People from the past had quite a few hobbies. These can be limited to sing and dance classes, instrument learning or trying a new indoor sport. But nowadays more and more young people engage themselves to extreme activities. There are a lot of pointed reasons for this. First could probably peer pressure. Just like any other teenagers, one might have wanted to be fit by joining group going hang gliding and mountain climbing. Even though doubting themselves, one will simply indulge themselves blindlessly to this kind of events to be “in” and not laughed at. Second is lack of parental guidance. Parents nowadays are both working and not able to know the whereabouts of their kids. Some might labelled it as rebelling or to seek attention. Third is to achieve a feeling of greatness. There is a tendency to do these risky sports just to brag and term it as self-fulfillment. For them, the dangerous the activity is, the better. It equates the feeling of greatness to one person’s worth in a negative way. In conclusion, some people nowadays enjoys risk-taking activities. For me, this is not a good trend. If not hospitalization, it could lead to death. A proper selection of friends, good parental guidance and true basis of self-worth may help to prevent mortalities on these types of hobbies. If of the same type of sports, a person may wanted, a good training and licensed group should be considered and not some absurd reasons which could end lives and could a source of regret and grieving.
