The fuel we use daily do not only come from fossils. Biofuel, a relatively more sustainable resource, comes from corn. Corn is harvested from farmlands, and stored for a period of time. It is then milled into fine grains to be ready to be processed. Milled corn then advances to the cooking stage, which lasts for four hours, to break down complex sugars into simple monosaccharides. Water is added in the process to dissolve the sugars. The most important procedure in producing ethanol is fermentation. It lasts for approximately 48 hours for the sugars in corn to be fermented by yeast. The next step is to filter the liquid, which is ethanol, from the undissolved solids. The ethanol has to be purified before use. In 5 hours of purification, the Ethanol is then stored and transported.

Sports is an important contribution to both our physical and mental health. Evidence from scientific studies claimed that the release of dopamine in sports may grants us a rewarding pleasure, and the improvement in blood circulation is also a significant benefit to our physical health. However, to compete in a world-class level in sports, it is much more about attaining better health. Athletes fight to exceed their limitations both physically and mentally. Physical strength is the core to achieving excellence in sports. In athletics, runners are expected to be fast on their feet. In racket sports such as table tennis, players must demonstrate a certain standard of agility. Some sports such as weightlifting require power. I once had the opportunity to admire a real-time NBA basketball game, and watching the players jumping to extraordinarily heights to smash the ball through the hoop, seemed almost superhuman to me. However, as Siobhan Haughey have said after achieving two silver medals in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, "Physical Abilites only account for 20% of your performance in a world-class tournament. The rest is up to your mentality." To bring out the best in yourself under a stressful and tense environment isn't as easy as it sounds. Almost every athlete gets anxious before a match, and the cortisol roaming in your veins can cause cramps and tension in your muscles. This may greatly degrade your overall performance, leading to a dissatisfying result. Timo Boll, an all time table tennis legend, has played at high levels for 20 years and won copious gold medals at World Tour competitions. However, he always encounters an unexpected defeat in the first or second round in the biggest stage of sports, the Olympics. This is a clear example on how psychology can impact a world class player. In conclusion, both physical and mental strength is important in sports. However, without mental strength, physical strength cannot be demonstrated in high classes tournaments, which can greatly affect the success of an athlete. Metaphorically, if success is a fish, then physical strength would be food, and mental strength would be the waters. Consuming lots of food may give a bigger fish, but without water, the fish wouldn't have survived at all.
