It is known that some people feel that job satisfaction is vitally more important than job security, compared to others who feel that having the security of a permanent job is more important and cannot always expect to enjoy their job role. The writer will aim to discuss both the views of job security and job satisfaction and deliver their own opinion regarding this. For some people job satisfaction can be crucial, people may identify their job as being a sense of purpose in life. People who find satisfaction within their job role, could potentially find that it has benefits within their personal life. Gaining satisfaction from a job could have positive effects on people's mind sets. If people have a job which they find exhilarating this could in turn have positive effects on the outcomes of their job role, being able to deliver a high standard in regards to their profession, personal realtionships, future goals and family life. However there is also negative impacts of job satisfaction, some people who are working within a job to gain satisfaction could be at risk of losing their job which is not permnament which in time could then have detrimental effects on their life. It could hinder their finances, effect their mental state potentially reducing their confidence which could effect them applying for future jobs, causing stress within family and personal life due to a loss of income and no sense of security. Nevertheless, people who do not always find job satisfaction are able to identify that sometimes a permnament job is more important. A permnament job for some people may bring a sense of security rather than the satisfaction of a job as they will not need to stress about potential issues that could arise when the employment is not permnament such as; loss of job, loss of finances, the impact this could have on their mental state, and the impact this could have on family life and relationships. In conclusion, it is very evident that their is both positives and negatives to both job satisfaction and job security however it is my firm belief that job security is crucial. I feel job security would in time give people satisfaction in regards to their personal life outwith the work place. People would not have to stress about, potential loss of finances which in turn could then have negative effects on personal relationships due to pressure of loss of income, which could then effect people's mental state.
