Oil production grew to 3 barrels per day in 1986 which was the highest among these two trends and remained steady until 1994 then continued with a gradual increase to almost 3.5 barrels per day in the end of the period. There is a believe that an action of a person is not powerful enough to make the environment better, unless through laws created by governments and activities of companies having high capital. This essay disagrees with the aforementioned idea. Firstly, the essay will discuss on the impact of individuals to the environment and secondly, it will explain why an improvement by people will happen faster than governmental authorities and large enterprises. Nowadays, people can use social media as a toll for telling people around the world about what they are doing. Therefore, individuals have power to convince others to pay more attention to the environment and create societies having an ultimate goal to improve it. For instance, Bill Gate, a leader of Microsoft, created a group with his colleagues to do research and create innovations aiming for suspending the climate change. As a result, his works, supported by donations from people and large organization, have huge impacts to the nature of many countries. As individuals, people are able to start doing many things, which benefit to the environment, by themselves without any obstructions. On the other hand, most of governmental authorities and large enterprises are required to receive approvals from relevant committees before starting a campaign or launching a project. For example, in Thailand after the prime minister gains majority votes in the meeting among relevant ministers, which usually takes a long time to arrange such meeting, he will be able to commence a reforestation program in some parts of the country. In conclusion, it is not necessary to wait for governments and big firms to do something for the environment because we, as individuals, have ability to create the sustainable environment every day.
