The neurone is a very complex structure. However, what you all need to know is that it has some main components which allow it to function. The Cell body, also known as the Soma, is seen as the main compnent of a neurone. This area of the neurone is surrounded by Dentrites, which are connected with other neurones for recieving messages from other cells. Apart from the fairly normal part of the neurone is a strange long body known as the Axon, which passes messages away from the cell body to other neurones. These messages are in the form of an electrical signal also known as an Action potential. The Axon is covered by the Myelin sheath. This sheath helps speed up the electrical signals or impulses. After the impulses move through the Axon they reach the Terminal buttons. This part of the neurone forms junctions with other cells. This allows the impulses to travel from cell to cell.

With the improvements in today’s health care, society has to care for more and more elderly people.

Do you feel that society will be able to cope with the increase in numbers of elderly people today and how can it be managed?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Every problem has a solution. In the last 50 years the aeging population has increased drastically. The main reason for this is beacuse of the improvements is health care which has seen a number of breakthroughs. However, when we take a big step in the right direction more challenges arise. A particular challenge that has arised is that now society has to care for more and more elderly people. The question that we face is that could we cope with this increase in elderly people and that could it be managed? In my opinion it is very possible to cope and manage such a challenge. Firsty, any countries' government should be aware of this situation. It should act to provide desired results. One way is to increase the number of elderly centres and communities. This not only helps the elderly but also other young people. For example, it creates employment opportunities and creates more jobs for people who are in need of one. Furthermore, with the creation of these types of facilities, the environment surrounding them would also benefit. It is the job of the local goverment to maintain and update the facilities accordingly. To manage such a rise the government should build centres where necessary. They should get the same services and quality of life in each and every facility. They should be properly maintained and regularly checked for any problems that need to be addressed. In conclusion, there is no harm in the increased numbers of the elderly and these numbers can easily be coped if taken aware of. The more elderly there are the more time people can invest in helping them.
